Haven’t been to Chiikawa Park yet? ✨ This adorable spot is in Tokyo and it’s an interactive experience that brings the whole Chiikawa world to life in the most charming way!

On the B1F experience floor you’ll find the cutest photo spots to recreate your favorite scenes from the series, then head up to the 1F shop floor for park-exclusive merch and game attractions 🛍️ Oh and you will also be able to meet some of the characters, but who shows up is completely random each day, which makes it even more exciting 🥹 I got to see Chiikawa, Usagi and Momonga!

Book your tickets in advance through @klooktravel and use my code MAINICHILATTEKLOOK - sometimes there are discounts available! 🙌 Price for adults (12+) is ¥3,500 and ¥1,800 for children (4-11)

Japan’s momiji season is coming! The Japan Meteorological Corporation just dropped its first autumn foliage forecast for 2026 🍁

Here are the peak leaf dates for some of the main spots:

🟡 yellow leaves (ginkgo)
🌸 Sapporo → Nov 6
🗼 Tokyo → Nov 26
🗻 Nagano → Nov 14
⛩️ Kyoto → Nov 27
🏯 Osaka → Nov 24
🍜 Fukuoka → Nov 27

🔴 red leaves (maple)
🌸 Sapporo → Nov 7
🗼 Tokyo → Nov 29
🗻 Nagano → Nov 21
⛩️ Kyoto → Dec 11
🏯 Osaka → Dec 4
🍜 Fukuoka → Dec 7

This year is running a bit later than average for most cities, so if you’re planning a November trip to Kyoto, for example, you might want to push it closer to early December if your priority are red leaves! 🍂

Attention trainers! Pokémon Center Mega Tokyo is back, and it reopened a few days ago, on August 24 🎉 … and that means Pikachu Sweets is back too! 🍰

Located inside Sunshine City in Ikebukuro, all Pokémon activities there have been closed since March 2026, sadly, following a tragic incident 😔 This reopening comes after extensive renovations focused on improving safety throughout the facility.

🕙 Open daily 10:00 to 20:00 from August 24
⚠️ Entry restrictions will be in place for a period after reopening, keep an eye on the official website for details on how to get in!

Our trip around Saga last year was amazing, and this is one of the most gorgeous ryokan we have ever stayed at 💖

📍 Chagokoro no Yado Warakuen @warakuen_chagokoro

Set in Ureshino Onsen, this ryokan is known for its green tea baths, a nod to the region’s tea heritage 🍵 We stayed in the Oborozuki Suite, quite possibly the best room I’ve ever slept in 🥹 It has a private indoor onsen, plus two outdoor tea-cup-shaped baths ♨️

Dinner alone was worth the trip 😍 Saga beef shabu-shabu in tea broth, tea porridge, and onsen yudofu made with Ureshino’s hot spring water, all local specialties! 🥢

💡 Tip: grab the Yu-Yu Ureshino onsen pass: 16 tickets for ¥2,200, usable across multiple onsen facilities in town. Available at the Ureshino Onsen Information Center, and such a good deal.

If a peaceful ryokan stay with incredible food and one-of-a-kind baths sounds like your thing, this is the place 😍

Have you heard of Kōfuku Station in Hokkaidō? A qu

Have you heard of Kōfuku Station in Hokkaidō? A quiet little stop in Obihiro that’s absolutely worth the detour! ✨

Kōfuku literally means “happiness” in Japanese, and even though the trains stopped running back in 1987, this charming former station still draws thousands of visitors every year, especially couples looking for a little luck in love 💕

The story behind it is so sweet: back in the 1970s, a TV show featured the train route from Aikoku Station (“love”) to Kōfuku Station (“happiness”), and people fell in love with the idea of that journey. The station was restored in 2013 and has been welcoming visitors ever since 💫

When you visit, make sure to ring the “Bell of Happiness,” explore the vintage train carriage, and leave a ticket behind as a wish for good luck!

And don’t leave without grabbing a stamp from the nearby post office and a pink soft cream too!

This is Mermaid Lagoon at Tokyo DisneySea, dedicated to The Little Mermaid and one of the most unique themed areas in any Disney park in Japan! 🧜🏻‍♀️✨ It’s one of my favorite spots in the whole park 🥹

If you’re planning a visit, here are my best tips for Tokyo DisneySea!

1️⃣ Buy your tickets in advance on @klooktravel, as international cards can be tricky on Japanese websites! Use my code MAINICHILATTEKLOOK at checkout ✨

2️⃣ Download the Tokyo Disney Resort app before your trip and scan your tickets in, you’ll need it all day 📱

3️⃣ Arrive at least 60 to 90 minutes before opening!

4️⃣ Fantasy Springs (Peter Pan, Frozen, and Tangled) is the newest and most popular area. Head there first or grab Disney Premier Access to skip the wait.

5️⃣ Use mobile order for food and aim for lunch at 11AM or after 2:30PM.

6️⃣ Don’t skip the themed snacks and popcorn, the buckets make the best souvenir 🍿

7️⃣ And of course... leave room in your suitcase for the merch 🛍️

It’s been many years since I first visited this specialty coffee shop in Tokyo and since then I cannot ever skip it when I’m in the area!

The coffee is incredible (we even bring beans home to keep drinking it between trips!), the space is beautiful, and the people behind the counter make you feel genuinely welcome every single time, they have such warm energy 🥹 It’s the kind of place that feels like home the moment you walk in ☕

So if you’re in Tokyo, you must go, you won’t regret it!
